Cache & Box Elder Counties will host A Light to Remember on International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31, 2023. These events seek to increase awareness about substance-related overdose, support people in recovery, provide education and support, and remember loved ones that we have lost. Participants will:
Have the opportunity to share a name/photo on the Memory Wall and dedicate a luminary to commemorate a loved one.
Receive free naloxone training and kit.
Visit booths with local information and resources, and much more.
Enjoy swag and a light dinner.
All community members are invited. Admission is free. The experience of remembering and honoring is priceless.
Schedule
6:00 pm: Meander through community partner booths, pick up swag , participate in naloxone training and receive your free naloxone kit, dedicate a luminary, post on the Memory Wall, learn about local resources, enjoy a light dinner and music, and connect with others through the experience of sharing in this honor with the community.
8:45 pm: Luminary lighting.
9:00 pm: Moment of Silence honoring those who have been lost to overdose (in support of International Overdose Awareness Day, #endoverdose).
